Microsoft recently launched its Windows Server 2019.

There is no doubt that Microsoft’s Windows server 2016 was one of the best server application that Microsoft ever introduced. In fact, it is one of the fastest adopted Windows servers in the history. But the question is how they have improved over the years and what is new in the Windows Server 2019?

Well with the launch of Windows Server 2019, Microsoft has focused on a few points. These points are the Hybrid, Security, Application Platform, and Hyper-converged infrastructure. However, to give you a better insight, let’s talk about these points individually:

Hybrid

The hybrid point is all about how customers are extending their active directory, synchronising file servers, and backup in the cloud. Apart from these basic tasks, customers can now get a hybrid approach.

As a result, they will be able to run apps running on-premises to take advantage of innovation in the cloud such as Artificial Intelligence and IoT. It enables a future-proof, long-term approach.

Security

Talking about the Security, well with the Windows server 2019 Microsoft has introduced a bunch of security factors. To make the security even better, Microsoft has worked on the features. As a result in Windows server, 2019 Shielded VMs will now support Linux VMs.

In addition to that, you will get an extending VMConnect which will improve troubleshooting of Shielded VMs for Windows Server and Linux.  They have also added encrypted networks which will let the admins encrypt network segments with ease.

Windows Server 2019 also comes with Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection (ATP). The ATP offers preventative protection, detects attacks and zero-day exploits and so on.

Application Platform

With the launch of Windows Server 2019, Microsoft has worked on making developers experience better. AS a result in Windows server 2019  you will find a reduced server core base container image. Hence you will get a reduced download time by 72%.

Moreover, you will easily be able to optimise your development time and performance. Also, they have introduced a bunch of significant improvements to compute, storage, and networking components of a Kubernetes cluster.

Hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI)

At the end talking about the Hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI). Well as you already aware of the fact that HCI is one of the latest trends in the server industry. And customers are now understanding the value of using a x86 server with high performant local disks for their needs. So yes with the release of Windows Server 2019 Microsoft is now offering HCI.

Windows Server Training

However, we know the fact that getting started with the Windows Server 2019 might be difficult for you. But thankfully there are quite a lot of courses are available online including Microsoft Training.
